The problem with military dictatorships is that eventually that have to cede to some form of capitalism to survive. The general population of Iran, particularly, the younger population has seen, experienced and tasted what a free Iran can be. Sanctions, strong deterence and the internal struggle may change Iran in the long run. For all the media blitz of uranium grades, internally, Iran is struggling and the government must keep the masses happy, or they will be out. What the west needs to do, is support Israel, put up a strong and united front, and continue to keep the Iranian puppets, Hamas and Hezbollah, in check. This means continued covert operations to prevent arms smuggling, etc., not a full blown war. Everyone knows this and it will continue to happen. The more moderate Arab states are just as fearful of Iran. The east Berlin wall fell without a single Nuke being fired. The same can happen in the ME.
