The headlines this week reeked of déjà vu, reminiscent of previous confrontations and intifadas, as conditions on the ground in Gaza are becoming more and more similar to those that preceded the 2014 war.19:05 05.02.16 | 4 comments
The net effect of stealing oil under the Shah, Savak's murdering, Saddam's 8-year's of carnage, and current sanctions and threats against Iran is this ... Iran is stronger, able to refine its own gasoline, manufacture its own fuel rods, enrich to 20% U-235, and develop defenses against Israeli missile and bomber attacks. Wouldn't anyone have done the same? It is a toss-up whether Iran is actually going for a bomb but, one thing I (a physicist, by the way) am sure of, if the threats and attacks continue, Iran will surely get a bomb. Maybe then the Middle East will finally know peace, a peace like the Cold War peace of MAD.
