There is every reason to expect that the ultimate result (driven mostly by Russia and China, with reluctant US concurrence) will be a serious hold on Iran deploying nuclear weapons in exchange for virtual guarantees from all major powers that there will be NO diplomatic, political, military or covert action that would hamper or interfere in any way with actions by current iranian regime to suppress any internal dissent. This would be a big win for Russia and Persian gulf arab states and for Khamenei/Ahmadinejad, a minor setback for US foreign policy, and a BIG loss for the iranian people.
