Iran in its pursuit of the leading the Islamic revolutionary mantle and aspiring to lead global Islamic opposition to the USA fans the flames of destabilisation in many parts of the world ,in Lebanon and Gaza, in pursuit of establishing an islamic anti-western block reinforced by nuclear arsenals and missile capability. In this regard its endpoint is strangely parallel to that of Al Quaeda. It carves out a destabilising influence on world-wide arena, and its rigid post revolutionary governmental system paralyses its ability to change its foreign policy towards a more pragmatic and enlightened policy towards the non islamic world outside. Its sponsorship of reactionary anti-western forces in Iran and the middle east is a relic of the revolution, from which the majority populace in Iran are unable to extract themselves. While it sponsors reactionary opposition to the USA and its allies, it attracts the admiration of old fashioned nationalists and anti western superpower adherents.
