I think it is important to keep on talking; time is not necessarily on Tehran's side, as the opposition is gaining momentum and is generally less extreme than the hardliners who are in control. At the same time we shouldn't have any illusions about the nature of the regime. What binds them together against their many enemies is hatred of the US, the West, Israel and internal democracy. This would make them extremely dangerous should they ever get the bomb.
