Five Arab states invaded in 1948 and Egypt, Jordan and Syria attacked in 1967. Israel BEGGED the Jordanian King not to attack in 1967, we didn't want war with them. But they did, lost and then refused to take responsibility for the civilians left on the West Bank (the so-called Palestinians, who until then were simply Jordanians). Interesting that the Palestinians didn't seek start calling themselves that whilst they were Jordanians from 1948 - 1967. If they want peace they will have it. It is as simple as that. They don't want a settlement because there are too many extremists who do not accept the right of Israel to exist.
