Interesting peice but so horribly flawed on a philisophical and historical level that i dont even know where to begin with a critic. The south african and Israel experience are so different. This issue did not start in 1967 but in 1948, and is effectively a single war that has continued until the today, where both sides are interlocked over there rights to exist in the region. Your claiming of Israel activities as a colonial adventure, although extremly fashionable, If you are willing to accept that effectively no final peace treaty has been approved by both sides since 48., then my understanding is that you do not believe that the Jewish population has place in this region, as if I read correctly what you are saying is colonism= illegitimate and therefore Israel is illigitimate..... we are caught in a prblematic situation, 2 populations wish to be able to express the national apsirations, and wish to protect thier peoples both physical and culturally something that is both legitimate and also the basis of the concept of a nation state. This is not a black and white argument and bandying the nuremburg laws and the aparthied south africa and claiming israel is on a parallel path ignores the very nature of the Israel state, its high court and even more so a vast majority of its citizens, who depsite incredible pressure daily stand up for weakened members of the society whether it be palestians, foriegn workers, sudanese, Sadly this was not the case in aparthied south africa (and to be honest not even post aparthied south africa) and also not the case in Europe pre or post world war 2, I do not support the laws or the politicians that have been premoting these laws over the past 2 years, but I feel that to claim that our whole constitution has become tainted due to this is both in correct and counter productive.
