PLO's Saeb Erekat says talks have ground to a halt due to Israel's rejection of Palestinian requests to resume full security duties in Area A.15:16 03.05.16 | 0 comments
It seems that Haaretz editorials are written by either multiple personality disorder schizophrenics, or different people with counterposed views. This time it is a viewpoint that is actually interesting and not banal (for Israel that is where most thought seems to be pretty banal). Yes the IDF has lost its fighting edge because it is a police force. That was proven in battle. Yes most "solutions" will involve preparing the army for real battles. Yes, getting out of the territories would be good for both peoples - but not for the US' strategic interests and hence not for a large part of the Israeli economy. Israeli Jews are in a position where to keep the economy hi-tech and armaments oriented, they must be a sparta for the US. The US will fight to the last Israeli. Hence the worst enemy of those Israeli Jews with nowhere else to go is the US, not Iran and the Palestinians.
