I'm interested to see what happens in the election. Abbas has proven himself to be incapable of enforcing law and order in the territories. Hamas has hinted that they would follow the so called "calm" if they were to be part of the government. Unlikely as this may be, it is even more unlikely that a Fatah headed PA will be of any help for taming the territories and becoming a meaningful negotiating partner. So maybe it will be good for Israel if Hamas wins. They will either have to quickly become legitimate and use their forces (which are more centrally controlled and capable than those of Fatah) to create law and order in the territories, or they will make the PA more clearly a terrorist organization than it already is clearing the way for Israel to finish the wall and finally set her borders unilaterally without as much uproar from the rest of the world.
