Arab armies and the Palestinian Authority have attempted to unilaterally create in Jerusalem (west and east) and then in the east a Judenrein state in 1948 (Jews expelled from the east, the western half put under a starvation seige), 1967 (an attempt to make all of Mandatory Palestine Jewless), and then the Al Asqa Intifdah (an attempt force a unilateral Israeli retreat from all the West Bank without any Palestinian concessions). Right about now we've seen riots and hurling of concrete blocks into cars driven by Israeli families. Well, they had their chance. Sometimes unilateral campaigns of violence have consequences when they go south, even if this or that American President would rather preside over the Israeli Jerusalem municipal code then, maybe actually do anything hard and fast about Iran's laughing (literally) at him while building up a nuclear deterrent. Looks like Jerusalem will have to mostly wait for the Palestinians until they put down their stones and slingshots.
