This statment is incorrect - Australia has been unwavering in its support of Israel at the UN. Australia originally voted against the adoption of the Goldstone report regarding Gaza. It was only after the passport forgery incident that Australia abstained from voting on a second resolution with regards to the Goldstone report. Australians feel we have been one of the strongest supporters of Israel which is why we felt saddened by Israel's use of our passports for the Dubai Assasination. It was widely noted that no US passports were used with the inference that Israel perceived it could afford to damage relations with Australia but dared not damage relations with the US. Read here if you don't believe me; http://www.smh.com.au/world/australia-abandons-israel-in-un-vote-20100228-pb70.html I hope that in the course of time this incident is forgotten and our countries will continue to be strong friends and allies as has historically always been the case.
