As an American living in Israel, I do not agree with Patriot's assertion that Haaretz is promoting "Obamaism". As Americans, we understand a principle of economics: Competition and open markets create lower prices, better opportunities and superior products and services-pure and simple. It is appalling what we pay here in Israel for basic goods and services due to the--for lack of a better term--"incestuous" business climate here. These large companies are in bed with the banks, government officials, and each other and monopolize too much of the economy. The end result is that there is virtually no competition here, almost non-existent customer service, and an Israeli public stuck with high prices and typically inferior, overpriced goods and services. Less government interference, free and open markets, lower taxes and honest competition are the best solution...sadly, even Obama needs to learn this lesson.
