This village is in Israel, it was destroyed and depopulated during the war of independence. What is being bulldozed are the remains, the houses that people have those rusty old keys for. Now the land an old depopulated and neglected village is being used to create new communities so this is actually a good thing. All the idyllic villages that were destroyed during the war of independence have now either been reclaimed by nature, sold to kibbutzim who have bulldozed the old buildings, sold to developers who have bulldozed the area, the JNF have turned them into things like national parks or there are roads going through them. The over romanticised palestinian villages are long gone, they are not just there empty waiting for the some palestinian to return to with a rusty old key to unlock the door of the house thats been waiting for the former inhabitants to return to. As there will never be an arab right of return ism't it better the remains are bulldozed to make way for new communities. I hope these refugees from Gaza build a thriving community here.
