This article contains too many basic errors, misapprehensions and misrepresentations to address them all in a small box. But one point I must insist on: the suggestion that I falsified quotations in The Whisperers is completely wrong. My critics pointed out a small number of alleged errors, most of which I refuted, whilst expressing my regret for the one or two genuine errors that remained. These were honest mistakes of the sort to be found in most books. The Whisperers is a 750 page book based on thousands of interviews and archival documents, so a few errors are hardly surprising, though of course regrettable. Its title is my own.
