Israel took its time but did apologize for the Liberty, though lots of US Navy questions went unanswered. If Israel wants better relations with Turkey, Israel can do the right thing. If not things will likely not improve. No country has the inherent right to kill anybody, anywhere in the world and claim self-defense when the facts clearly do not support the contention. The Turks killed were not in Israeli territory. The Turks were not boarding Israeli ships. The Turks killed were without firearms. Calling a person a duck does not make the person a duck. Attacking civilians on the high seas, in international waters, for political reasons is not a civilized act. Wearing an IDF uniform may change the definition of the act to one of war, but it does not change the nature of the act.
