In the presidents Atlantic interview he states, "They are able to make decisions based on trying to avoid bad outcomes from their perspective." Which is very diplomatic, but avoids the issue of how the theologically guided leaders of Iran view good and bad outcomes, what the president means by, "from their perspective." The problem is, Mr. President, What IS their perspective? According to Bernard Lewis the "bad outcome" is the era in which the Hidden 12th Imam has NOT yet returned! The "good outcome" involves ENCOURAGING the Mahdi's return. Bring on Gotterdammerung (in Christian terms, the End Times) after which the hoped-for reward will be the messiah-initiated Kingdom of God. Perhaps our president is not sufficiently prolific in Jewish history. This was already tried two-thousand years ago in the war against the Romans and ended with Doorway #2, the destruction of Jerusalem and two-thousand years of Diaspora and persecution. Is this an outcome President Obama is willing to chance in the Atomic Age?
