The reaction of both President Sarkozy as well as opposition candidate François Hollande, have been both forceful, wise and reassuring. The inexplicable way this monster was allowed to murder in three separate killing sprees, amassing weapons, despite being under surveillance, remains. However, the way the French are carrying on the attempt to arrest this murderer, is the correct one. The siege is the best hope of capturing an Al-Qaida terrorist alive, and passing him through justice; avoinding him committing suicide in a place probably not lacking explosives and weapons. Last but not least, the prejudice of this murderer being an Anders Behring Breivik 2.0. were proven wrong. This wasn't a generic anti-immigration serial killer, but a Muslim Arab with Jihadist and Jew-hating motivation. Lady Ashton is left in ridicule.
