This is hardly a problem unique to Israel. Political corruption? It's as old as the hills. Yes it's wrong, and yes we are always shocked and disgusted, but, alas, it seems to go with the territory. Political leaders choose to forget they are public servants. Wasn't the new Israel supposed be a Jewish homeland, with Jewish thieves, prostitutes and politicians? living side by side with the concert violinists and scientists? Israel will never be perfect, but it should perhaps try harder.
