I dare to propose that the Iranian nuclear threat to the whole region may induce the relatively secularized Fatah to more than fake negotiations. Moreover, there are other inducements like the prospect of economic development that may stimulate real interest inpeace on the Palestinian side. Assad as well may have in mind a U.S. sponsored modernization, and its not excluded he would accept partial withdrawal as face saving. The ongoing negotiations have an intrinsic and instrumental value, it is better to keep talking creating the precedence and practice of talking than keeping the status quo. This is especially valuable with Syria to break the Syrian-Iranian axis of evil. Sylvia Sztern-SempreLovingM.G.
