Why didn' t the Palestinians raise this problem of recognition of Israel's identity, which is both a religious and nationalist perspective, until now, meaning the last few years? Does it have to do with the core issue of Palestinian refugees (an item for discussion while into the peace negotiations) and their displacement which was principally caused by the persuasion to flee by the Arab leaderships during the 1948 war? It seems that the Palestinians disinterest in preservation of the first monotheistic religions, Judaism, which in effect translates to recognizing the Jewish State, stands in the way of their aspirations towards their independence and sovereignty once again.
