I am a fan of Akiva Eidar, but I see a major flaw is his argument. The demonstrations of 29 years ago were indeed about the subject on which the president spoke. The present day demonstrations are not about the diplomatic stalemate and the risks it brings to Israel. It would not be honest if the president took the opportunity to press for issues that apparently don't concern the demonstrators. Am I wrong? I am writing from Brazil and my main source of information about the Israeli-Palestinian confilct is the Haaretz.
