Imagine the nationwide condemnations and anger from israel, and the global condemnations and anger from Jewish communities. There would be talk of war crimes, there would demands for an offensive into Gaza. OK, the IDF PR department has condemned this, because omebody in there still realises how bad it looks. The trouble is, from reading Haaretz, I stringly suspect that this kind of attitude to Pals and treatment of them is commonplace. The IDF soldier in question here, geneuinely doesn't know what she's done wrong. That's what's really scary. Also scary is the way she instantly falls back on the victimhoo and anti-semitism as a defence 'They'll criticise us whatever we do.' I wonder if Abergil is in charge of Israel's entire military and diplomatic strategy, because her strange mix of attitudes seems entirely characteristic of it.
