"What`s your point, buddy? Am I missing some cryptic relevance to topic of discussion?" - Ilya Yes, you are. But I was being obtuse. The General Assembly finding was silly. More important is that George Bush replaced John Danforth, a Republican of impeccable reputation and tact with John Bolton as our ambassador to the UN. In simple terms, a traditional and honest conservative Republican was replaced by a man who hates the UN, is there to destroy it, and has a reputation for doing exactly the kind of intelligence cooking and lying which has started to cause much trouble for the administration. Bolton is so out of control and unfit, that Bush was not even able to get the Republican controlled Senate to approve him due to Republican Senators objecting to his actions and statements. He waited until congress was out of session and did what is known as a 'recess appointment' which can only last until the next Congress is created. This would all be great sport and laughs were it not for the fact that right now the Bushiz have so entangled us in Iraq and so discredited us in the world, that we desperately need the UN to deal with Iran. And at the same time, Bush has sent an odious man to destroy the UN as our Ambassador. The GA finding that Zionism was Racism was silly. John Bolton is more ideological insanity which is making things far worse. Rightists here and in israel may hate the UN. But as I have noted it can't really do anything the US disapproves of, and it can be of use.
