Do you really think that a (albeit effective and well trained) guerilla force can invade and conquer land versus a numerically superior force also containing Apache helicopters, 100's of tanks, etc. etc..?? Hizbollah's main strength is in the Lebanese topography and well placed defensive positions. It's very hard to defeat unseen infantry who are well dug in, in the bushes, who can pop up and shoot your back after you move through, with small-arms or anti-tank missiles. Just ask the Americans who were in Vietnam.
