It was bizarre to see Mr. Shtrasler call Obama a socialist--the same Obama who rejected a single-payer health insurance system like that in Canada, so that he could preserve America's odd mixture of public and private health insurance. Mr. Shtrasler also was inconsistent when he wrote, "Health reform had to be done, but not in a crisis year." If not now, when, Mr. Shtrasler? And if you are dissatisfied that the U.S. has not yet recovered from the economic crisis that Obama inherited from George Bush, then why not criticize the Republicans in Congress who overwhelmingly opposed the February 2009 stimulus plan and who tried to block counter-cyclical measures such as extended unemployment benefits?
