At the first Arab National Congress held in Paris, in 1913, the Zionist movement sent a delegation to offer an alliance to the Arabs for a joint struggle against the Ottomans. In the 1930's, when Ben Gurion was trying to negociate an agreement with the Arab leaders, he went further by proposing the creation of a "Semitic federation". As far as I can tell, in their colonies, the Europeans have not attempted to forge an equal to equal partnership with the populations they have colonized. If all these attempts to build an alliance between the Jews and the Arabs failed, and if the Palestinians were dispossessed in 1948, it is because the Arabs tried to destroy Israel in 1948 and to liquidate the Jews. Had they accepted a two state solution from the outset, there would've been no Nakba.
