"The Arabs are not the descendents of Amalech... they are decendents of Ismael and our cousins !!! When G-d promised the land to Abraham and his descendents that included Ismael too...." The Bible never once mentions Ishmael as the father of the Arabs. This is a much much later extrapolation, not even mentioned in the Koran. It is incorrect, though, because the last known descendants of Ishmael were the Roman-era Itureans, 'sons of Jetur', who lived in the area around Damascus and Mt. Lebanon, not Arabia. They were converted to Judaism during the military campaigns of John Hyrcanus. But if you really were a Jew and knew the Bible, you would know that Ishmael was not conferred the promises made to the other son Isaac. The Hebrew Bible and the Moslem Koran are 2 vastly different and antithetical documents that cannot be reconciled by shallow claims like 'no conflict exists between Judaism and Islam'. The Bible and the Koran are like chalk and cheese.

Why we don't know how to pick our leaders

Our craving for ideology means that we are partial to ideological leaders. But we need leaders who will make smart decisions that are aligned with the public interest.
