"242 does call upon Israel to withdraw the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) from territories captured during the defensive June 1967 Six-Day War." Yes, full marks; UNSCR 242 certainly says that. "Yet, it calls upon Israel to do so to 'secure and recognized boundaries';" No, it most definitely does NOT say that. UNSCR 242 says what it says i.e. there are T.W.O. principles that need to be carried out before there is "peace", and those T.W.O. principles are: (1) the IDF withdraws from occupied territory and (2) everyone recognizes each others right to exist behind recognized and secure boundaries. You are therefore conflating T.W.O. principles into one, and you are doing so because that is the only way you can make UNSCR 242 says something that it does not say.
