The bills don´t mean the end of our democracy, but they still causes serious damage. Not irreversible, but it is a worrying trend. The whole deal smacks of fear, anxiety, radicalization, contempt for basic democratic values - and even of fanaticism. It´s a shame. We shouldn´t be afraid of the free individuals and citizens. We can do better than this. We shouldn´t use legislation in order to promote the "right opinions", or to enforce homogenity all over Israel. This trend of the lawmakers harms the foundations of our society. You know what - maybe there should be small revolution in Israel, after all - israeli style: a new and confident center-left movement with a progressive and liberal agenda?
