The IDF broke no laws, the boarding of the Mavi Mara in international waters is permitted by the Helsinki Principles which allow for the boarding of a ship attempting top break a legal blockade and the UN themselves had declared earlier the blockade is legal. When the commandos boarded the ship their main weapons were paintball guns because everybody was expecting calm their uzi pistols were there because you don't send a soldier into a mission without being armed. the commandos were attacked when they boarded by a mob armed with metal bars and knives, they tried to throw one of the commansoss overboard, one had his uzi stolen. In the end they only opened fire to protect themselves and once order was restored the IDF flew medics to treat the wounded. This is all captured on video so there can be no denying the commandos were attacked first how. The ONLY reason we agreed to give any money at all was not an admission of guilt of a crime of some kind it was to try and rapair damaged relations with Turkey and $100,000 is more than fair and Erdogan is being an opportunist in his demands of $1 million each also allows him to come out of it looking a strongman which is good for his image back home.
