When asked recently what issue keeps him awake at night, new security service chief replied that it’s the possibility of Hamas carrying out a large-scale surprise attack. It’s now his job to keep that from happening.06:46 12.02.16 | 0 comments
There will probably be a major ground operation but the reason for that is the constant rocket attacks by Hamas, so far we have avoided taking action not because the rocket attacks had decreased but we had Iron Dome shooting them down but there is only so long you can shoot them down and do nothing to try stop the attacks. As soon as Israel pulled out of Gaza in 2005 it became a giant rocket launching and thousands have been launched since the pull out. We need to go in hit them hard and close down the rocket launch pads for a long time to come and also destroy as many tunnels as possible. One of the main worries with the idea of creating a palestinian state is its not going to satisfy everybody and do we want sites like Ben Gurion Airport in range of rockets because these are threats the country faces as it has no strategic depth.
