This is disgraceful. The individuals rioting and beating up Arabs (if this were Arabs attacking Jews they would be referred to as terrorists, but for some reason Jews never receive that title) are despicable, but what is really unforgivable, and the most telling, is the reaction by the Israeli authorities. Individual criminal activity is bad, but we have a justice system to address such issues. What is worse is the systemic inequity, racism, a bigotry in the state of Israel and its security establishment against which there is no recourse for Israel's Arab minority. The only institution that could respond to such systemic injustice is the Supreme Court, but we have already seen that the Israeli political establishment believes they need not heed the word of the court. Disgraceful.
