When a state like Israel is established and maintained as a Jewish state then apartheid-like discrimination is built into its very heart. Religion is the major discriminatory factor; but race is also,IF one considers the Jews a particular and indentifiable ethnic group. The Law of Return applying only to Jews is a clear example of this religious & perhaps racial national & legal bias. I was in Israel in 1990 before the intifada and I was struck then by the appalling treatment of Palestinians in Israel proper. There is little doubt in my mind that Israel is as close to an aparthied-like state as exists in the world today.
