From what I read on Wikipedia about Ms Dimant who had a serious relationship with Kafka, she didn't seem to be worried about what might be revealed. T'would seem to me that Ms Hoffe may have felt she was sitting on a gold mine that might provide her a level of whatever just because she worked for Max Brod. In his day, Kafka was one of those writers who was considered a little off-side. Only after his work turned out to be "prophetic" did Kafkan become a matbe'a lashon in Western Culture. If anything, he is one of the last vestiges of what was the Prague at the turn of the Twentieth Century to remain in our collective consciousness.
