There is a recognition from the Palestinian side that the Jews are going to stay in the land of Palestine. Even Hamas understands this. When the Israelis elect a leader and a goverment who understands that the Palestinians are also going to stay on this land, there is a real chance of peace. Until that happens, the demographics will continually change in favour of the Palestinians, weakening the Israeli position further and further. Its in Israel's interest to reach a just 2 state solution in the very near future. This definitely also fits in with the Palestinian aspirations.
