Equivalent VPs and CEOs make 10 times that amount and don't have near the same weight of responsibility. IDF personnel make many sacrifices businesspeople never have to. I would think that the people with the burden of all our safety, in light of real danger, should deserve more than a software programmer or salesman. How will the army attract top talent if we pay less for so much more? Who will protect us then? The real problem is the number of people earning such low salaries to make the average so low and not the normal/low pay for top officers.
