Although ıt ıs common to change names to an Arabıc one when converting to Islam ,especially one that has a relıgıous meaning e.g Abdullah or after one of the companions of the Prophet e.g. Umar, ıt ıs not required. Having to change one's legal name requires court approval and one could still adopt a new name to be conveniently ıdentıfıed as a Muslim by fellow believers especially if it has negative assocıations e.g Bibi,Golda,Mayer Kahane, etc. The Arabıc form of Hebrew prophets ıs also preferable.
