The palestine/israel problem is not solvable at this time. Israel's lack of a "peace initiative" is appropriate since the only thing that can be done at this point is to try to keep the body count at a minimum with good fences and tight security. False expectations raised by peace initiatives have been cause of past violence, which has always meant more palestinian casualties than israeli. There can be no "two state" or "one state" solutions in palestine as long as nationalism based on ethnicity and religion reign supreme, and that isn't going to change for a long time. Tough for an arab christian like yourself, who has no real place in the present palestine/israel world, but then, I guess that is why you live here in the wonderful USA where national identity is based not on ethnicity or religion, but on the opportunity to succeed by surpassing and exploiting ones fellow citizens, as well of people throughout the rest of the world.
