What you're saying is quite true.No army is invincible and human error and negligence affect us all eventually.IDF is no exception and an ambush with the element of surprise in your favour is not that difficult to mount. Those killed, wounded and abducted in the North were reservists whose main preocupation was to go home as soon as possible rather than concentrate on the job at hand. That might have cost them their lives and freedom. I think like you there is no military solution to this conflict. We all want to be home with our families rather than in a tank,a stinking trench or being abducted by a bunch of criminal islamist thugs so Israel has made the first step pulling out of Gaza and South Lebanon unconditionally and unilateraly. That should have been the first step towards a two states solution. But the Islamists prefer to kill even at the cost of having their own families and friends killed and maimed in the name of Allah and his prophet. When will this carnage end Ibrahim?
