UN resolutions and conventions are fine in theory but in the real world they are irrelevant. Israel rejected Resolution 194 from the start and whilst the palestinians might see right of return as sacred Israel will never agree to it and most countries even the ones who support the palestinians accept Israel's demand the right of return fantasy is dropped or no deal so Israel has most the western world on its side on that issue. Let us assume Israel would the palestinians accept the idea of ONLY the individuals who left in 1948 with their partner being granted a right of return and not their adult children, grandchildren and great grandchildren ? Considering 90% of them will be in their 70s or older with the very very youngest being 65 Israel doesn't have to worry about the Jewish majority being affected. Resolution 194 applies only to the original refugees not to their millions of descendants because you cannot inherit refugee status
