I think that the assassination of Hariri set off an internal conflict in Lebanon. That it hasn't opened up to a full fledged hollywood production doesn't make it less of a threat. I think his second war comes from Syria's ongoing support of Hizballah, which to a certain extent allows the group to continue its attacks against Israel, which culminated in last year's cross border attack and kidnapping that led to the more violent war between Israel and Hizballah. I think that he is involved in a third war, with some participation in Iraq. Though to what extent, I am unsure. In addition, he also supports HAMAS, and its violence towards Israel, so while he may not have started that war, he is a particpant in it. Meanwhile, despite is so-callled ovatures for peace, Bashar Assad manages to keep his own internal political prisons running full blast, and voice the rhetoric of violence towards Israel. Certainly his rhetoric is one that is more towards war than it is for peace.
