This matter, Professor Toaff's speculation, would best be left to disappear quietly. Do these idiots think that Professor Toaff made his assertion based upon NOTHING? That there is NO shred of historical evidence that he used in drawing his conclusions? I doubt it. If the issue goes a way now, then he was simply 'wrong', but if he has to defend himself then his evidence, and reasoning, must be given a day in court. And the issue comes back, and in a forum where it cannot be battered down with mere sound bites and slogans who knows how much ammunition will be handed anti-Semites? Professor Toaff did not claim that the Blood Libel was true. He asserted that there were events and practices that tended to give it some credibility at the time. There is a BIG difference. The MKs are fools trying to gain a little favor by a big mistake.
