All those who pontificating about Israel having to stay in there and kill more Lebanese civilians and a fighter or two are not being practical. Let's step back and pretend that Hamas is a company and Hezbollah is a company and "Peace for Israel" is a company. The uglier Israel gets the more Hamas and Hezbollah's stock goes up and the lower the stock for "Peace for Israel" goes. There is little practical big-picture thinking in Israel. The thinking that seems to prevail is so primitive and primal. Israel is like that soccer player from France who went primal and cost France the championship; Israel can't get peace by making more enemies. Nasrallah is smarter than Israel. Even if he loses he wins. Even if he dies he wins. He has already won and Israel has already lost. The question now is one of limiting further damage to Israel's future. Israel corrodes its own future with its actions. Go long on Hamas and Hezbollah and short "Peace for Israel" until Israel changes.
