The way I hear it is this; the Israelis started this round of tit-for-tat-violence on 10 August when a bunch of IDF cowboys decided to take potshots at an old lady and her herd of goats who were around 600 metres inside Gaza. They managed to shoot her in the leg as well as ten of her goats. This was in broad daylight and the IDF hotheads could quite clearly see who they were shooting at. And this isn't the first time the IDF have opened fire on obviously unarmed civilians inside Gaza so is it any wonder that the Palestinians - if, indeed, they were Palestinians - should retaliate?
