The need to preempt Iran and export gas to Egypt was the reason the government gave to push through its controversial plan for Israel's natural gas. Now, this reason may no longer exist.08:52 31.08.15 | 1 comments
1. On the territorial vs. existential thing, I dont really see the Palestinians looking for land anywhere else other than historic Palestine/Eretz Israel. Hence, territorial conflict. One may consider it an existential (zero-sum, no compromise possible, etc) but that fight is over the land. 2.Many scholars consider the land to be unoccupied. Many scholars also consider Zionism to be colonialism. Just because some people say some things doesnt make them true. The International Courts/every country in the world thinks they're illegal/occupied. Her evidence to the contrary is because some people say differently? If I say that murder is legal, and find ten people who agree with me, is murder legal? No, because the law says its not. 3. Settlement boycotts do not equal a boycott of Israel, and do not equal BDS. Israel has not applied international law there. COGAT is the law. Not the knesset. If the territories were Israel, israel would be 2/3 apartheid. Even Israel knows that the territories are not Israel. I buy Israeli goods because Im a Zionist. I do not buy settlement goods because the settlements are not Israel. 5. Jerusalem is Judaism's holiest city. We know this. Jerusalem is also a center of Palestinian culture, and while the stuff about 3000 years is basically correct, it has nothing to do with neighborhoods like Ramot or French hill. It's like saying that RIshon lezion is in tel aviv. Its wrong. Ancient Jerusalem, where we have connections, is the old city, mt olives/zion, and some other stuff around it. Not Pisgat Ze'ev, Gilo, or Shuafat. 4. Find me one pro-peace group that only criticizes Israel. You can't.
