However, everybody already knows what a peace deal will look like. Hamas will be opposed it as will west bank settlers and Israeli right wing. But what's the alternative? You can't keep millions o people living in limbo forever. If the two state solution fails the only option is a one state solution. I for one feel that may be the end of israel as a secular Jewish state. The religious on both sides will gain momentum and find common ground. The freedoms that Israelis enjoy and Palestinians seek is at stake here. There will always be plenty of reasons not to go back to negotiations, un bid or not. What is needed now are leaders on both sides who realize that there are even more reasons to negotiate. At the moment the Israeli government is seeking reasons not to talk as it has been kidnapped by a right wing that is not acting responsible. On the pa side the problem with the Hamas involvement is obviously a massive hurdle. But if the leaders would listen to it's people and not to it's extremists we could see peace within months. And a prosperous future for both nations. A un bid will not change that one bit.
