is that Israel seems to be more and more isolated, whilst our government(!?) seems unable to act in a way other than to prolong the isolation, and rely only on military strength and double speak. We appreciate that to some extent this may be common in other places too but those of us who do not wish to see Israel 'hurting its future' are concerned enough to speak out. Also ,if Israel is the country of the Jewish people,it must listen to Jewish people in USA UK and elsewhere, who,(partly because of 'good' PR by the Pals,(where did ours go?) ,are suffering increasingly because most people who dont know lots about it,equate 'jewish' with 'zionist' , thus making life difficult on campuses and elsewhere.Zionism was originally NOT about settlements and occupation. After 9/11 the world grumbled because it did not hear a loud enough outcry from ordinary peace loving Muslims. That is what J street and others are doing regarding SOME of the situation in Israel. Many have donated financially to Israel, but are still made to feel that they are not able to criticise or even discuss without being derided or called self hating Jew or anti Israel. If they did not truly care about Israel's future, surely they would not even bother to comment. By the way I lin Tel Aviv,I care and I tend to agree with most of J street's policy, but I believe the settlements were a biog mistake which has come back to bite us.Also that the'tail wags the dog';that is, the governments policuies are led by minority religious and settler parties. It is time for a new voting method so that someone with the most votes holds power, and does not need to bow and scrape to extremists in order to hold on to power. As our last Eurovision song said THERE MUST BE ANOTHER WAY
