Israel is situated in a tough neighborhood. It only takes 2 hours for the Syrians to move their entire fighting force from central Syria to the Israeli front. Hezbollah is an Iranian/Syrian proxy army right on the border. The US is training Fatah forces 10 minutes from Jerusalem, and we know that one day these forces are going to be used to kill Jews. What J Street is proposing, at this point in time, where real risks to Israel?s survival are still very evident, is anything but support for the Jewish people. As such, I propose that J Street drop the J from their name. As hard as it is on the ears what J Street is proposing borders on turning Israel into a society where religious identity should be neutralized for Jews, but not for Arabs. There are sectors in Israel and the US that are slipping closer to communism. In Israel however, only the Jews are looked at as being accountable. The rest can do what they please.
