...if they haven't already. Of course, Israel really did mess up with the Liberty, as transcripts have proven, but like the Marmara, there was no malice aforethought on Israel's part. And interestingly, in both cases the party that got confronted by Israel was doing something wrong against Israel, though with the Liberty, Israel's technical mistake was huge, while with the Liberty, the people on the boat clearly created the situation after the confrontation began. So while I fully support Israel's decision to pay the Liberty victims, I do not support this decision, unless proof comes out that some or all of the deadly IDF fire was indeed unprovoked.
