The basic assumption is: "The Palestinian effort must be referred to as a process that erodes the legitimacy of the State of Israel" while the primary argument is: "by pursuing this process in the UN, the Palestinians are trying to achieve their aims in a manner other than negotiations with Israel". Riiiiight. Logically, one does not follow from the other **unless** you want to argue that the bedrock of Israel's "legitimacy" is its decades-long Lordship Over The Palestinians. Which is odd, because I didn't think that countries were allowed to keep slaves any more.....
